UN Comtrade Database

Comtrade is one of the publications of the UN Statistics Division. As well as detailed global trade data, including country profiles and commodity profiles, this site showcases data visualisations related to trade.

Europa (official gateway of the European Commission)

Europa is the general portal for all kinds of information about the European Union, including news, laws and treaties, data from public bodies across the EU, and details of the EU budget.

Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)

The FAO's site includes country profiles, reports, and its Statistical Pocketbook along with downloadable resources such as video and audio clips and infographics.

International Labour Organization (ILO)

A tripartite organization giving an equal voice to workers, employers and governments, the ILO is a major source of data on labour statistics, labour laws, policies and standards. The site is browsable by industry sector, topic, or country.

International Monetary Fund (IMF)

The IMF's site includes books, papers, articles and videos on themes including the environment, fiscal crises, and low-income countries. Publications include the Global Financial Stability Report and Regional Economic Outlooks. The site also has profiles of the IMF's 189 member countries.

Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)

With 36 member countries, the OECD has reports, data and publications organised by country and by topic. It publishes 250 new titles per year.

UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD)

UNCTAD encourages evidence-based policy by publishing analytic reports, papers, meeting notes, statistical bulletins and the UNCTAD Handbook of Statistics. A companion to the Handbook is a series of PDF fact sheets each accessibly summarising the key points of an aspect of global trade.

World Economic Forum

The "International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation" publishes reports and articles, organised by initiative, such as "Shaping the Future of Economic Progress" and "Shaping the Future of International Trade and Investment". The site also includes the "Transformation Maps" feature that connects topics in a graphical network.

World Institute for Development Economics

This is the research and training centre of the United Nations University (UNU), established in Helsinki, Finland in 1984. Also known as UNU-WIDER. It carries out applied research and policy analysis on global development and poverty issues. UNU-WIDER makes available a set of free working papers, which can be downloaded or ordered in print.

World Trade Organization (WTO)

The WTO site includes many topics related to trade, including tariffs, regional trade agreements, and Aid for Trade. There are also flagship publications including the World Trade Report, plus profiles of the 164 member countries.
